Richard Popovich

I am sixty-two y/o, born in Glens Falls NY, now living in the Reno, NV area. I received my education later in life graduating from Weber State University in 1990 and receiving my Masters from the University of Central Missouri in 1992. My major was history with two minors; geology and driver education.

I am currently disabled with the unusual occuopation of "professional cadaver."

OK. Have you caught your breath yet?

Actually it sometimes feels like I am a professional cadaver! I've had to undergo eleven surgeries over the past seven years. The last one was for four herniated discs, but it wasn't as bad as the two total knee replacements and two foot reconstructions that I had in 2001 and 2002, 2005 and 2006. One of the things that I learned from this was patience, take one day at a time, and look forward to the next day without dwelling on the past. I also stopped getting frustrated when I saw my orthopeadic surgeon driving the Porsche that I bought for him.

To feel better about his Porsche, I bought a Mustang GT convertible. I am from the generation of muscle cars, cheap gas and had a hot 1960 Dodge Matador sport coupe with an engine that pumped out 390 horses... Ooo-wee, did that old car move. My Mustang isn't quite the car that that Dodge was, but it is fun too! I just don't get tickets anymore... now that's a good thing isn't it?

Politically I would describe myself as a Jeffersonian-republican. I admire and venerate our nation's Founding Fathers and really appreciate the Constitutional Republic and freedoms that they left to us. I also have an enthusiastic interest in the Constitution and Constitutional law. This is my major center of interest along with a keen purpose in converting honest liberals into Constitutionalists.

Notice that I use the word "Constitutionalist" rather than the term "Conservative" when describing my political philosophy.
